At Bearinc LLC, we believe that automated testing should be easy and intuitive. That's why we created testgrinder, a tool that allows you to write tests in natural language. This makes it easier for non-technical users to understand and verify the tests. Additionally, testgrinder includes features such as automated suggestions, color highlighting, and more to increase productivity. We designed testgrinder as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) to take advantage of the scalability and cost savings offered by cloud-based architecture. And later we provided an option for customers to run a dedicated testgrinder instance on their own private cloud.
Our team has years of experience in various segments of the IT field, and we have observed the gap between the complexity of modern enterprise-level software and the outdated methods and tools used for testing. While lower-level testing has seen significant improvements, higher-level user-facing testing has remained largely manual and time-consuming. We saw the need for a new kind of test automation that allows specifying tests in natural language while maintaining enough structure for machine execution. This led us to develop testgrinder, which was initially used for automating acceptance testing of a large and customized IBM Maximo implementation. The project was a success and reinforced our belief in the potential of testgrinder.
In the future, we plan to continue improving testgrinder and potentially expand support to other enterprise-level systems such as Salesforce, Workday, SAP and more.
